Frequently asked questions
All you need to know about combinations.
Where are wetsuits made?
The vast majority of wetsuits are produced in Asia, and more specifically in Thailand, Vitenam and Cambodia in the factories of the Taiwanese group: Sheico.
How to choose the thickness?
To help you choose the right wetsuit thickness for your needs, consult our table of recommended neoprene thicknesses according to water temperature.
What to wear under a neoprene suit?
There are no hard and fast rules. Several options are possible, the only thing to keep in mind is your comfort.
- For boys, most riders opt to wear nothing under their wetsuits.
You can keep a swimsuit on
- For girls, swimsuits, one-pieces, two-pieces or nothing at all, j
Some riders also opt for synthetic or cotton sports underwear.
Here again, the most important thing is to feel comfortable.
Peeing in your suit: myth or reality?
Peeing in your wetsuit, a rider's ritual
According to science, it's completely normal! The cold and the underwater pressure provoke an urge that 90% of riders assume. This"diuresis immersion" even warms up winter sessions.
So let's face it: yes, it's a relief and it prevents you from missing THE wave!
Rinse with special soap and never in a friend's wetsuit!
Bottom line : although legitimate, we recommend waiting a while before "christening" the new one. And we understand why some people find it disgusting!
How to recycle a wetsuit
- Effective, large-scale recycling of surf wetsuits remains an unsolved challenge. However, the 2020 Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy (AGEC) law has enabled the creation of an EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) channel dedicated to sports and leisure equipment.
- The Ecologic eco-organization is in charge of setting up this channel to improve the collection, sorting and recycling of end-of-life sports equipment, including wetsuits. Brands will have to take part in the collective effort and finance the operation of the channel.
