Surfing levels according to the French Surfing Federation
To help you choose the board suited to your level, here are the different classifications established by the French Surfing Federation :
First Foam - Beginner
- You discover the first sensations of surfing.
- You learn to stand in the foam.
- You become familiar with the safety rules in the water.
Bronze Wave - Intermediate Beginner
- You have mastered the take-off in the foam.
- You start steering your board on small waves.
- You understand the basics of tides , waves and currents.
Silver Wave - Advanced Intermediate
- You are able to go offshore (normal conditions)
- You take unbroken waves
- You have mastered your take-offs and are starting to read the waves well.
Golden Wave - Confirmed surfer
- You surf in all conditions.
- You master trajectories and supports.
- You perform advanced maneuvers ( tight turns , cut backs )

To ensure the longevity and performance of your surfboard, it is imperative to protect it from prolonged sun exposure.
