DOLCE MINIMAL 7'10 - MINI MAL
The long format for style
The Minimal 7'10 is the longest mini mal in the Dolce range. With its 63.70L volume and 7'10 length, it offers stability, glide and style. Shaped by Johnny Cabianca, this mini-mal is ideal for developing fluid surfing and long trajectories. EVA Epoxy construction with wood stringers: the solidity of a softboard that competes with hardboards.
Longer than the 7'6, the Minimal 7'10 paddles better, glides more smoothly and allows for more defined trajectories. The square tail provides control and stability in turns. At 22 1/2 inches wide, it offers an excellent platform for noseriding and long turns.
The 2+1 setup (central fin + 2 stabilizers) combines the drive and glide of a single fin with the control of stabilizers. Unlike a thruster or quad, which favors short, nervous turns, the 2+1 favors fluid trajectories and style. The Minimal 7'10 is the board for surfing in style.
Why choose a Mini Mal?
The mini-mal is the ultimate progression format. Shorter than a longboard (and therefore easier to handle), but with enough volume to remain forgiving. The mini-mal lets you learn the real basics of surfing: wave placement, take-off, bottom turn, top turn.
The square tail offers more surface area than rounded tails, providing stability and control. It's the ideal tail for learning to surf cleanly, draw lines and manage speed. The mini-mal forgives placement errors while giving you enough feedback to progress.
Unlike a longboard (more stable but less maneuverable) or a shortboard (more responsive but less forgiving), the mini-mal is the perfect compromise for most improving surfers. It's the board you keep for years, the one that makes you progress session after session.

DOLCE RANGE
Shapes Cabianca, EVA Epoxy construction
The Dolce range is the result of a collaboration between Zeus and Johnny Cabianca, Gabriel Medina's board shaper. Six models designed to compete with hard boards (Torq, NSP, etc.) while retaining the solidity and safety of EVA construction. Easy-to-use, high-performance boards for improving surfers.
A versatile Egg (Pill 6'6), three evolutionary mini-mals (Minimal 7'0, 7'6, 7'10), and two accessible longboards (9'0 and 9'4). All models share the same Epoxy EVA construction with 2 wood stringers, reinforced rails, and 4oz + 6oz fiberglass. 2+1 setup (thin central + stabilizers) for drive, glide and style.
The Dolce range targets surfers from level 1.3 to 3.2 (beginner with experience to very advanced). It's the natural progression after the Progress range (level 1.1-1.2, total beginner) and the Classic range (level 2.1-2.2, intermediate). Dolce is when you really start surfing, drawing lines and developing your style.

Do you have a question?

Why Zeus?
It's not soft, it's a Zeus!
"Foam board", "softboard", "soft top" are all the same thing. The term comes from the EPS (expanded polystyrene) core covered with a soft coating.
But beware: a Zeus has nothing to do with a beach toy. Reinforced construction, wood or composite stringer, high-density slick - this is pro equipment designed to last 3 to 5 years in surf school (intensive use).
In fact, some mass-market brands themselves state that their boards are "not suitable for intensive use in surf schools". Zeus, yes.
Depends on the deck.
EVA deck (Dolce, Cabianca, Classic, Burger) → No need for wax, the grip is integrated. This is the choice of 90% of surfers in France.
Deck IXPE → Wax recommended. Smoother surface, epoxy-like feel. Ideal for hot countries as EVA can slightly irritate the skin when you surf in boardshorts. But in France - and especially here in Brittany - it's pretty rare to surf without a wetsuit.
Check your board specs or contact us if you have any doubts.
An entry-level board costs less to buy, but let's do the math. Basic construction, generic shapes, limited lifespan: you buy again in 12-18 months. Resale value? Virtually nil.
A Zeus at 350€ lasts 3 to 5 years. On resale, you'll easily get back 150-200€ - shops will take it back, the second-hand market is active. Real cost: ~50€/year versus ~100€/year for the entry-level model.
Our +200 partner surf schools have made this calculation. Once they've invested, they're in the clear. So are you.
Rigid boards (epoxy, polyester) and softboards use different technologies.
Rigid board: PU or EPS foam core covered with fiberglass and resin. Hard surface, lighter, very reactive. Requires advanced level to be used properly (level 3.1+). Shock-sensitive: the slightest impact can create a ding to be repaired.
Softboard: EPS core with soft coating (EVA or IXPE). More forgiving, more stable, absorbs shocks. Ideal for progressing from beginner to advanced intermediate level.
And the high-performance Zeus? Our Dolce and Cabianca ranges are designed to rival the sensations of a rigid board - responsiveness, glide, radicality - while retaining the advantages of softboard construction: durability, safety, zero maintenance.
Maintenance - 3 simple rules:
- Rinse with fresh water after each session (or wipe with a damp cloth if no water is available).
- Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially on the hull - it's your board's #1 enemy.
- Store in the shade, in a dry place, ideally on a vertical rack
Transport :
- By car: never leave your board in a trunk or on a roof in direct sunlight in very hot weather (+30°C).
- Use a cover to protect against bumps and scratches
- Straps on roof racks or bicycle racks: check that they are not too tight to avoid deformations
A well-maintained Zeus will last you for years.
