The versatile shortboard that forgives
The Storm is the accessible shortboard of the Bold range. With its 42.2L of volume and 6 feet of length, it offers a perfect balance between performance and tolerance. Born from the collaboration between Zeus and Johnny Cabianca, shaper of Gabriel Medina's boards, the Storm combines the safety of an EVA softboard with the behaviour of a true performance shortboard.
The extra volume on the nose makes paddling and getting into waves easier. The Storm forgives positioning mistakes better, whether on the board or on the wave. It stays manageable and reactive, but without the technical demand of the Breeze. An ideal board for average conditions and sessions where you want to progress without fighting your board.
With its 5 boxes, you choose your setup: thruster (3 fins) for more speed and drive, or quad (4 fins) for more manageability and hold. The squash tail offers a good compromise between control and release. The Storm is the shortboard that lets you have fun without punishing you for every mistake.
Why choose a Shortboard?
The shortboard is the board of performance and progression. Compact and reactive, it allows tight turns, snaps on the lip and vertical surfing in the pocket. Where the fish favours natural speed and flow, the shortboard bets on manageability and control in hollow, powerful waves.
The squash tail offers more surface than pointed tails, giving control and speed out of turns. It's the most versatile tail for a modern shortboard. The ability to switch between thruster and quad lets you adapt your board to the conditions: thruster for more drive and speed, quad for more hold and manageability in fast sections.
The shortboard forces you to be active on your board, to generate your speed through pumps and rail-to-rail transitions. It's a school of technique that develops your surfing and prepares you to handle more demanding waves.
